Electric Summer

This bright and colorful collection is infused with summer vibes and sunshine! Each one of a kind Hawaiian style shirt was handmade by Em in her coastal California home studio. The upcycled and handmade process guarantees no harmful impact on the people or our planet during the production of these shirts. Upcycling also helps prevent clothing from ending up in landfills! Get ready to shine and spread good vibes with these designs!

Artfully Handmade

Em took a few months to thrift enough Hawaiian style button-ups for the collection before she got into the cutting and sewing process. As she was treasure hunting she developed a vision for this year’s “Electric Summer” colorful collection. Em also designed our new “Electric eMpulse” patch that adorns almost all the styles in the collection.

Our upcycling process often involves repairing clothing that otherwise may have ended up in a landfill. After giving a little extra love to some garments in need of repair, Em uniquely designed and hand crafted every shirt to be a fun flowy layer that can be worn from the beach to the street!

Vintage Fabric Details

We were so excited to receive some vintage fabric from Em’s Aunt Beck, who used to sew back in the day. This vintage fabric was used to handmade patches for seem of our shirt styles, and will be used for future designs (check out the lining fabric of our fanny packs!). We date this donated vintage fabric back to the 80s/90s time zone. Some of our other patches were made from scrap fabric of previous eMpulse designs (part of our minimal waste design process).

Sizing 

These genderless styles are great to wear oversized or fitted. We sized these unisex shirts to “men’s” industry standard sizes with a relaxed fit. We listed all length and width of the sizes on our product listing page, which is a great way to compare the exact fit of these one of a kind shirts to some shirts you may already have and like the fit of.

Versatile Styles

We love wearing them oversized like a flowy kimono or beach cover-up. Not to mention these babies are mad fun to skate around in or be your new favorite party shirt! However you rock these threads, you will be living easy breezy all summer long!
